The Brewers make their way to the ballpark that is across the street from the home of Mickey Mouse and Disneyland. The Brewers AGAIN are not able to beat a good pitching staff. After beating up on Rich Harden, in game #1. The Brewers would struggle against last years 17 game winner Scott Feldman and 1st round pick in 2002, Colby Lewis. With 2 more "L" the Brewers in 2010 against pitching staffs that are ranked 6th or better. The Brewers have a record of 5-16.

The last time the Brewers played in the land of Mickey was on June 10th 2004. The Brewers played a 3 series against the Halos. The Brewers in that series, would send Ben Sheets, Victor Santos and Wes Obermueller to the mound. The Angels counter with Kelvin Escobar, Jarrod Washburn and Aaron Sele. The Brewers even though they finish in last place in 2004. The Crew would take 2 out of 3 of those games.

Game #1 the Crew in the top of the 17th with 2 outs, Craig Counsell walks and scores on Scott Podsednik double to right, off pitcher Ramon Ortiz. Its gives the Crew 1-0 lead and Matt Kinney gets the W in the bottom that 17th. Game #2, the Brewers get 2 run double by Lyle Overbay and rbi single by Bill Hall in the top of the 1st. The Brewers beat up on the former Wisconsin Oskhosh pitcher Washburn, for 6 runs in 5 innings. Santos throws 6 innings, gives up 13 hits, but only 2 runs. Dave Burba earns a 3 inning save. Brewers win 12-2. In the final game, in the 3rd inning, Junior Spivey gets an rbi single and then a 3 run homerun by Geoff Jenkins. Wes Obermueller gives up 3 run in 6 1/3. In the 8th inning, Jeff Bennett gives up 2 runs, without registering an out, its puts the Angels up 5-4, for good. Kevin Gregg gets the W and K-Rod earns the save.

The same manager that was in the Angels home dugout in 2004, is still there today. That manager is former Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Mike Sicoscia. Sicoscia has been the skipper for the Angels since he took over Terry Collins/Joe Maddon in 2000. Michael Lorri Scioscia was born in Upper Darby Pa. He played his high school at Springfield High school in Springfield Pa, the home of the Cougars. He is the Dodgers #1 pick and 19th overall in 1976. Sicoscia and his Angels have won the American League West 5 of the last 6 seasons.

The Angels coaching staff

Mickey Hatcher - Hitting coach -Michael Vaughn Hatcher would be Sicoscia teammate while with the Dodgers. He has been the hitting coach with Sicoscia since 2000. Born in Cleveland Ohio and play his high school baseball in Mesa Arizona. Played his college baseball in Norman Oklahoma, for the University of Oklahoma, the home of the Sooners. Before he was with the Dodgers, he was on Kevin Kennedy's staff in 1993 and 1994 in Texas.

Mike Butcher - Pitching Coach -Michael Dana Butcher played 115 games with the Angels. Butcher who was born in Davenport Iowa and played his high school baseball in East Moline Illinois, became the Angels pitching coach in 2007, after Bud Black who was the pitching coach until he is named manager of the Padres. Butcher was the pitching coach for manager Joe Maddon in Tampa in 2006

Alfredo Griffin - 1st base -Alfredo Claudino Griffin would be the 1st base coach for the Halos since 2000. Griffin from the DR, would be the american league rookie of the year in 1979. Griffin 1st coaching job would be with the Jays and Cito Gaston in 1996 and 1997

Dino Ebel - 3rd base - Dino never played in the majors. Born in Barstow California, who become the 3rd base coach in 2006. He replaced Ron Roenicke, who promoted to bench Coach, when bench coach Joe Maddon was name the manager of the Rays.

Ron Roenicke - bench coach -Ronald Jon Roenicke who is a former Dodger outfielder. He was born in Covina California, he has been on the staff since the start in 2000. He first started coaching in 1992 and 1993, for manageer Tommy LaSorda and the Dodgers.

Orlando Mercado -has been the bullpen coach since 2004 - the former major league catcher from Arecibo Puerto Rico, play in the majors for 8 seasons. 3 years with the Seattle Mariners, 1 seasons with the Rangers, Tigers, Dodgers, A's, Twins, Mets and Expos.

What do the Angels bring to the table -the Angels are coming off a great 2009 season. They would lose to the Yankees in the ALCS in 6 games, after they defeated the Boston Red Sox in 3 games in the divisional series.

The Angels last season were about the same at home and on the road. The Angels had a record of 49-32 at Angels Stadium and 48-33 on the road. They gave their pitchers 444 runs of runs support at home and 439 on the road.

SS -Erick Aybar -the 26 year old from Bani Dominican Republic was sign as amateur free agent by the Angels in 2002.

C - Mike Napoli -Napoli is a Hollywood Florida native and play his high school baseball at the home of the Falcons, Pembrooke Pines. The 29 year old was the Angels 17th round pick in 2000

RF -Bobby Abreu -the 36 year old lefty from Argua Venezuela was first signed as amateur free agent by the Houston Astros in 1990. Sign a 2 year 19 million contract as a free agent in 2009 to become an Angel

LF - Juan Rivera -the 31 year old righty from Guarenas Miranda Venezuela. First sign as amateur free agent by the Yankees in 1996. Came in the trade mention before from the Nationals in 04 for outfielder Jose Guillen

CF - Tori Hunter -the 35 year old righty from Pine Bluff Arkansas. Plays at Pine Bluff High School, the home of the Zebras. He was the Twins #1 pick and 20th overall in 1993. Sign 5 year 90 million free agent contract in 2007 with the Angels

DH - Hideki Matsui - better know as Godzilla. The 36 year old lefty from Ishikawa Japan. Signed as amateur free agent by the Yankees in 2002. Signed 1 year 6 million dollar contract with the Angels for 2010

The match-ups for the 3 game series

Monday night -Randy Wolf vs Joe Saunders -Wolf has only won 1 game in his last 6 outings and posting an era of 6.43 in those starts. Not what the Brewers were expecting when they sign him as free agent in 2010. Could he be the next Jeff Suppan ??? The 34 year old Canoga Park California native will be pitching Angels Park for the 1st time in his career. Just 52 miles from his home. He has faced the Angels twice in his career, his record is 0-1 with an era of 6.35. Wolf faced the Angels last season as a Los Angeles Dodger at Dodger Stadium. He gave up 10 hits and 4 runs in 6 1/3

Joseph Francis Saunders - Saunders is 6-3 210 lefty from the Northern Virginia area. Born in Falls Church outside of DC. He plays his high school baseball for the Spartans for West Springfield High School. Saunders after high school, plays his college baseball for the Hokies of Virginia Tech. In 2002, he is a 1st round and 12th overall pick. He gets a 1.825 million signing bonus. Saunders coming off 17 and 16 game winning seasons. Saunders who only lose 7 games the last seasons, is sitting with a record of 5-6 in 2010. He will be making his 14th start of the 2010 season. It will be his 109 of his career tonight. His career record is 53-28 with an era of 4.24. Saunders is coming off a complete game in his last start against the A's in Oakland, giving up 1 run. He has given up 2 runs in 15 innings. Saunders will be facing the Brewers for the 1st time in his career.

Tuesday night - David Bush vs Ervin Santana -Bush return to the rotation and gave about what is has done all season. 4 runs in 6 innings. He did not get a decision in the game. Ervin Ramon Santana -the 27 year old right is 6-2 160 from La Ramona Dominican Republic. He is signed as amateur free agent by the Angels in 2000. Last February he agree to 4 year 30 million contract, Club option for 2013. 13 million buyout. Santana is making his 14 start for the 2010. His record is 6-4 with an era of 3.52. Santana is making his 151 career start against the Brewers. His career record is 65-49 with an era of 4.43. Santana is 2-1 with an era of 4.28 at home. He is 4-3 with an era of 3.04 in 2010. So far in his career is home record is 36-29 with an era of 4.61. Santana has never faced the Brewers

Wednesday afternoon - Chris Narveson vs Joel Pineiro...Narveson is coming off his best start as a Brewer against the Texas Rangers, throwing 7 innings of 2 run baseball. Narveson has pitched better on the road. He is 4-1 with era of 5.19, compare to 5.81 at Miller Park. He will be facing and pitching for the first time against the Angels

Joel Alberto Pineiro - the 32 year old is 6-1 200 righty from Rio Piedras Puerto Rico. He plays his high school baseball at Colonial High School in Orlando Florida, the home of the Grenadiers. He plays his college baseball at Edison State College, in Fort Myers Florida. He would be drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 12th round in 1997. He was signed by the Halos in 2010 for 2 years for 16 million. Joel is 5-6 with an era of 4.77 in his 13 starts in 2010. Pineiro will be making his 230 career start against the Brewers. His career record of 92-85 with an era of 4.41. Pineiro is coming off a complete game 5 hitter/1 run completed game against the Dodgers. Pineiro career record at home is 48-36 an era of 3.76. Compare than to 44-49 an era of 5.05 on the road. Pineiro faced the Brewers 3 times in 2009, while with the St. Louis Cardinals. His record was 2-0 an era of 3.43. He threw 21 innings and allowing 8 earned runs. He has faced the Brewers 6 times, with a record of 3-0 an era of 3.35.

Its going to be another test for the Crew. Brewers fans that have to work in the morning, maybe I should suggest that you go to bed early on Monday and Tuesday, instead of watching the Brewers. You just might be quite unhappy, with the results if you stay up. The Brewers have a tough task the next 9 games. 3 at Anaheim, 3 at Coors and then the Twins come to Miller Park. I predicted the 11 games below .500 Brewers, will be over 14 games below .500 after these next 9 games. On their pace to finish with the 2nd WORST record in franchise history !!!!
